The GOP County Caucus will be held on the Saline County Fairgrounds at 10 a.m. March 2.

Missouri used to hold Presidential Primaries to decide the presidential nominations, but the State Legislature did not renew the Presidential Primary process in 2022, causing each county to conduct their own Caucus instead. The Caucus replaces a normal Presidential Primary, and is how the Missouri Republican Party sends delegates to the Republican National Convention. The Caucus allows voters to let their voices be heard in the nomination process for President.

Doors open at the Saline County Fairgrounds at 8:30 a.m., and will close at 10 a.m. to begin the Caucus process. If there is a large turnout, those in line at 10 a.m. will be checked in at registration, while those who arrive after 10 will not be allowed to register for the Caucus.

Any voters wishing to participate will need a valid photo ID. Any registered Saline County voter can participate in the Caucus and does not need to be registered in the Republican Party. However, Caucus participants are required to sign a pledge attesting to be a “good and faithful Republican.”

Saline County residents can check their voter registration status by contacting the Saline County Clerk’s Office at (660) 886-3331. Voters can also preregister for the Caucus at the MOGOP website.
