The Pettis County Commission announced Robert Anthony Farkus as the newest Prosecuting Attorney for the county effective immediately.

Farkus fills the vacancy left by Phillip Sawyer, who was appointed as Associate Circuit Judge for Pettis County in the 18th Judicial Circuit.

Farkus has been helping the county for about ten years prior to this appointment. Farkus says he plans to continues Sawyer’s policies, but plans to increase his staff and to provide more resources for the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

The county commission approved the appointment with a unanimous vote.
