The Higginsville Board of Aldermen approved a contract for the construction of the city’s Wastewater Treatment Plant during its meeting on Tuesday, February 20.

Bids were opened for the construction on December 13, 2023. The low bid was from Martin General Contractors LLC in the amount of $17,150,000. The board then approved the contract with Martin General Contractors, LLC for the project.

The contract includes the construction of a new 1.2 MGD wastewater treatment plant, a new influent pump station and headworks, an Activated Sludge Treatment process, and a UV effluent disinfection system.
