The Higginsville Board of Aldermen approved several bills and agreements during its meeting on Monday, March 4.

The board first approved a bill for a cemetery maintenance agreement with Adam Dillon. Dillon was selected as the contractor for mowing and trimming needs, and has worked with the city for nine of the past ten years.

The board also approved a bill authorizing the city to expend city revenues for fireworks. This ordinance allows the city to spend up to $8,000 to purchase fireworks, with reimbursement from the Higginsville Chamber of Commerce.

The board finally approved an agreement for the provision of serviced with the Lion’s Club of Higginsville for the fireworks display. The Lion’s Club is in charge of designing and conducting the display on Thursday, July 4.
