The Marshall Public Schools Board of Education approved a third party construction inspector for the MPS Intermediate School project during its meeting on Tuesday, March 12.
The International Builder’s Code and several city permits require the school district to hire a third party inspector during the construction of the Marshall Intermediate School. The cost of the inspector was already included in the construction budget.
The board received three bids for the job. The recommended bid from Engineering Surveys and Services came in at $65,800, which was much lower than the other two bids, which were around $100,000. The board approved the recommended bid.
In other news, Assistant Superintendent David Reinke reported that construction for the Marshall Intermediate School has been progressing, and the contractors are about to get rolling.
Also, a meet the candidates event is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, March 21 at Bueker Middle School for anyone wishing to meet with the school board candidates on the ballot in April.
