Lynn Dyer, a senior student at Lafayette County C-1 High School in Higginsville, has been named a finalist for the National Honor Society’s $25,000 scholarship.

Serving as the president of her school’s NHS chapter, Lynn has organized collaborative efforts with FFA, FBLA, and FCCLA to revitalize Postage Stamp Park, demonstrating her commitment to community service.

Beyond her academic and leadership roles, Lynn serves as the president of the student council and holds the position of vice president in FFA.

Selected from a pool of nearly 17,000 applicants, Lynn is among the 25 finalists for the prestigious scholarship, totaling $2 million awarded to 600 NHS students. These scholarships, supported by the NHS parent organization, recognize students who embody the four pillars of NHS membership: scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

The winners will be announced at the upcoming gala on April 5, where one national recipient will be awarded $25,000, and four others will receive $10,625 each. Additionally, 20 finalists will receive $5,625 scholarships, and 575 semifinalists will be granted $3,200 scholarships.
