The Salisbury Board of Aldermen appointed a new Fire Chief after Jamie Cruse announced his retirement from the position effective April 1, 2024.

Cruse announced his retirement to the board, but then recommended Zach Jones to be appointed to the position. The board approved a motion to appoint Jones as the new Fire Chief effective April 1.

The board also filled a vacancy on the Planning and Zoning Commission by appointing Sherry Wright to the vacancy.
