Law enforcement from the Saline County Sheriff’s Department arrested a subject after an incident on Monday, March 25.

According to a probable cause statement, a law enforcement officer approached a vehicle parked at an abandoned building in Sweet Springs, where he observed a smoking device and other drug paraphernalia in plain view. The driver, identified as Joe Dunn was detained and a search of the vehicle was conducted. Authorities located smoking devices, marijuana, and a crystal substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine. Dunn also admitted to authorities that he uses fentanyl as to relieve pain.

Dunn has numerous arrests for possession of a controlled substance.

Court documents say Dunn has been charged with a felony for possession of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety.
