Burl Ceph Jasper, Jr. was born May 10, 1953, in Marshall, MO., the son of Burl Ceph Jasper and Georgia Williams Jasper. He married Linda Nelms on November 26, 1993, in Blackwater, MO. When J.R. was young he loved to build model cars in the basement of his parents’ house, this carried over his whole life as he loved to build and tinker with hotrods, rat rods and trucks. He enjoyed riding his Harley and was a cowboy at heart. J.R. loved people and you could get caught by one of his stories and could not get away. He worked for Cooper County Court House for 15 years and retired in June of 2023. That courthouse is proof that J.R. could fix anything and could make so many people happy while he worked there with all the projects he would undertake.
J.R. is preceded in death by his father Burl and sister, Vivian Lang. He is survived by his wife, Linda of the home, Mother, Georgia Jasper of Sedalia, MO., son, Brett (Aislinn) Jasper of Marshall, MO., daughters, Brooke Williams of Warsaw, MO., and Stacey Narron of Marshall, MO. He is also survived by his brothers, Mark (Belynda) Jasper of Cole Camp, MO., Steve Jasper of Humbolt, NE., and sister, Sandra (Mike) McInteer of Houston, TX. Numerous nieces, nephews and lifelong friends also survive.
