The Kansas City Royals defeated the Chicago White Sox 2-1 on Friday, April 5.

The Royals got an early lead thanks to an RBI double off the bat of Salvador Perez. The White Sox tied the game after Gavin Sheets drilled a solo homer.

The Royals retook the lead after MJ Melendez hit an RBI single in the eighth inning.

Brady Singer tossed a quality start, going 6 1/3, allowing one run on two hits and a walk with four strikeouts.

Perez had a three-hit day with a walk and an RBI.

Kansas City gets back to .500 with the win.
