Today, the Saline County Commission convened in a regular session, during which Commissioner Stephanie Gooden announced a reminder for the Saline County-wide cleanup scheduled for this Saturday, April 13th, from 8 am to 4 pm at the Saline County Fairgrounds.

Notably, household hazardous waste, including items such as oil-based paint, pesticides, rodent spray, insecticide, and compressed gas tanks, will not be accepted at this event.

However, residents can schedule an appointment with Marshall Municipal Services for disposal at the landfill area by calling 660-886-3945. Appointments are available every fourth Wednesday from April to October, between 8 am and 12 pm.

Marshall Municipal Services will assist residents in disposing of hazardous items and provide a list of acceptable household hazardous waste. To clarify, the compost area will maintain its regular Saturday morning schedule.

It’s crucial to note that this is not the designated time for disposing of hazardous items. Residents must strictly schedule an appointment for hazardous waste disposal through Marshall Municipal Services.
