Marshall Municipal Utilities (MMU) was honored with the American Public Power Association’s (APPA) Safety Award of Excellence in 2023 for its exemplary safety practices. MMU achieved the Diamond level designation within the category designated for utilities with annual worker exposure ranging from 110,000 to 249,999 worker-hours.

In 2023, a total of 146 public power utilities nationwide received the APPA Safety Award of Excellence. These utilities were categorized based on their worker-hours and were evaluated on their incident-free records and the overall effectiveness of their safety programs and culture throughout the year.

The American Public Power Association (APPA) represents not-for-profit, community-owned utilities that serve approximately 2,000 towns and cities across the United States.
