The Fayette School District recently received 515 pounds of locally raised beef through the MO Beef Kids program, donated by Randy and Sondra Conklin of Rocking C Ranch. This initiative aims to provide students with beef and industry education.
Community members can contribute through animal or monetary donations. So far, Howard County producers have donated over 8,000 pounds of beef. MO Beef Kids is a partnership involving school districts, the Howard County Cattlemen’s Association, MU Extension, the Missouri Beef Industry Council, and the Missouri Department of Agriculture’s Missouri Grown program. All beef is processed through Mizzou Meat Market in Columbia.
