Harold Spencer Fricke, 81, of Marshall, MO, died Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall, with Pastor Rodney Haggett and William W. Harlow officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the Saline Animal League, Missouri Valley College or First Christian Church in Marshall. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born April 17, 1943, in Sedalia, MO, he was the son of the late Harold Lilburn Fricke and Jo Kathryn Cox Fricke. On July 26, 1985, in Marshall, he married Carla Dean Haynie who survives of the home.  Spencer was an educator for 30 years for Marshall Public Schools and was an adjunct professor at Missouri Valley College for 15 years. He received the Outstanding Missouri Valley College Alumni Award and the Outstanding Prinicpal Award at Bueker Middle School. He attended the First Christian Church in Marshall and was a member of both the University of Central Missouri and Missouri Valley College Alumni.  He was a good athletic person, playing basketball, baseball and football; loved to golf and was a huge Chiefs fan; loved to barbeque and was a Grand Champion at the Missouri State Fair; and he enjoyed gardening and canning many vegetables. He served as president of MMU Board of Public Works in Marshall.

Survivors include his wife, Carla; three children, Kim Collins (Don) and Lisa Johnson of Kennett MO; one son, Dr. Mark Gregory (Shannon) of South Lake, TX; four grandchildren, Zach Johnson, Shelby Landers, Mary Grace Collins and Grant Gregory; one sister, Nancy Martin of Plattsburg, MO; a host of nieces and nephews; and Spencer’s two dogs, Sammie and Annie.
