This evening and overnight, expect a line of severe storms traveling through the state, bringing risks of strong winds and intense rainfall. Be mindful that nighttime storms pose increased hazards as many are asleep. It’s crucial to have a preparedness plan and access to multiple alert systems.

Saline County Emergency Management Agency Director Tony Day stated that tornadoes are not expected to form, however strong winds ranging from 70-75 mph may occur, which can be just as dangerous. The severe weather is expected to hit the area at around 11 p.m. Day also says that while there will likely be no tornadoes, Saline County storm sirens will be in effect is winds exceed 70 mph.
