
The Concordia Board of Aldermen approved several items during its meeting on Monday, May 6.
The board started by formally approving the appointment of Kacie Messer as City Treasurer for the city. Messer is taking over for Carol Mueller, who is retiring.
The board also approved a proclamation to designate May 25, 2024 as Poppy Day. Representatives from the VFW Post 5649 and the Auxiliary Post 5649 in attendance to receive the proclamation.
The board also approved several requests as well. One was a request from the Concordia Truck and Tractor Pull Organization for use of the Edwin A. Pape Lake for the Second Annual Jimmy Stork Memorial Truck and Tractor Pull on August 24. The other was a street closure request on Southeast 5th Street from Main Street to Orange Street for St. Paul’s School Spring Program on May 15.
Both requests were approved.
