During the regular session of the Marshall City Council on May 7, committee reports were presented, with Councilman Nathan Swisher delivering the public safety and public relations report. Swisher provided a comprehensive summary of the fire department’s activities for April, indicating that they responded to a total of 49 calls throughout the month. These included 8 fire calls, 17 rescue and medical calls, 1 hazardous conditions call, 13 service calls, 7 good intent calls, and 3 false alarms.
Additionally, the annual report of the fire department was presented, revealing that they successfully saved an estimated $14.5 million worth of property but were unable to salvage $1.3 million. Encouragingly, there were no fire-related fatalities reported for the past year.
