A Columbia man, Gregory Gramm Kespohl, appeared in Cooper County Court for an initial hearing on Wednesday after being charged with drug trafficking. According to court documents, Boonville Police stopped Kespohl on May 2nd after observing his vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed with its bright lights on.
The officer activated their in-car radar, prompting Kespohl to rapidly slow down but still exceed the speed limit.
The officer followed the vehicle noting that its bright lights were still on and observed excessive braking by Kespohl. Additionally, he drifted far to the right side of the roadway. During the stop, the officer conducted a search in where a magnetic box was found under Kespohl’s driver’s seat containing 219 grams of methamphetamine, leading to the drug trafficking charge.
