The Saline County Commission convened in regular session on May 9th, with Presiding Commissioner Becky Plattner explaining that the commission had conducted a review of county roads following recent rain and weather damage. Plattner informed the commission that during their inspection, they discovered a log jam obstructing a bridge on Lemon Trail in Saline County, presenting a significant risk due to extreme pressure. The commission was able to promptly hire a contractor to remove the log jam.
Plattner expressed gratitude to the citizens of Saline County for their patience during road maintenance efforts, acknowledging that while Lemon Trail had been freshly grated with gravel, the process inadvertently led to gravel ending up in ditches due to the log jam removal operation.
Fortunately, this intervention prevented bridge damage, emphasizing the importance of timely action and community cooperation in ensuring road safety.
