Roger Herndon, 77, of Marshall, MO, died Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, MO.

Private family memorial graveside services will be held at Hazel Grove Cemetery in Herndon. Memorials are suggested to Hazel Grove Cemetery in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born July 20, 1946, in Los Angeles, CA, he was the son of the late Robert Herndon and Genevieve Bryan Herndon. He was a 1964 graduate of Marshall High School, moving to California and returning to Marshall in 1990. He retired from Gilpin Auto Parts and recently worked at O’Reilly Auto Parts. On May 27, 1995, at New Salem Baptist Church at Marshall Junction, he married Helen Stephenson who survives of the home.

Survivors include his wife Helen; one daughter, Rachel Johnson of Columbia, MO; two stepsons, Jason Wright of Marshall and Justin Wright (Cindy) of Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren, Shelby Gibson (Brent), Regina Wright, Kayli Wright and Braden Grimes; two great-grandchildren, Bentlye Gibson and Zane Gibson; one brother, Steve Herndon of Marshall Junction; and one cousin, Mike Herndon (Marsha) of Gladstone, MO.
