The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a crash on May 12, 2024, at 8:31 PM, on MO 135 south of Eichelbarger Dr in Cooper County. The crash involved a 2006 BMW 325I driven by Eric J. Northern, a 40-year-old male from Boonville.

The vehicle sustained extensive damage. Eric J. Northern and two passengers, Eathan A. Northern (19, male) and Kasie M. Northern (19, female), all from Boonville, sustained injuries. Eathan A. Northern was moderately injured and transported to University Hospital by ambulance, while Kasie M. Northern sustained minor injuries and was transported by private conveyance to the same hospital. Eric J. Northern, the driver, also suffered moderate injuries and was transported to University Hospital by ambulance.

The crash occurred as the BMW attempted to overtake another vehicle, crossed the center of the road, struck an embankment, and overturned into a creek before coming to rest on its wheels.
