
Earl W. “Bud” Martin, 77, of Warrensburg, MO, formerly of Sweet Springs, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the Missouri Veterans’ Home in Warrensburg.
Graveside services with military rites will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Missouri Veterans’ Cemetery in Higginsville with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Born December 20, 1946, in Sweet Springs, he was the son of the late Ernest Edward Martin and Pearl Edna Pape Martin who survives of Marshall. He lived in the rural Sweet Springs area most of his life, was a graduate of LaSalle High School in Alma, and member of Elmwood Methodist Church. Bud served in the United States Navy beginning in 1964, spending nearly three years overseas, and was honorably discharged in 1969. He returned to the Sweet Springs area where he worked at Rival Manufacturing for several years. Bud was a member of Tieman-Blackburn American Legion Post 478 and Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include one son, Gene Edward Martin (Mary) of Lee’s Summit; one daughter, Misa Laine Davis (Tim) of Pleasant Hill; seven grandchildren: Nicholas, Andrew and Marisa Martin, Joseph Davis (Sarah), Catherine DeVaul (Josh), Matthew and Sarah Davis; four great-grandchildren: Cody, John and Trevor Davis, and Della Rose DeVaul; visitors who gave kind friendship: Steve and Carolyn Pearson, Wally Shisler, Kenny Pearson, Terry Sailor and John Rich; as well as his “family” at the Missouri Veterans’ Home.
