A man from Boonville sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle accident on Highway 179 in Moniteau County.

The incident occurred at 2:10 PM on Tuesday on Highway 179 near Chapel Road, as reported by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Robert Hern, 60, from Boonville, was riding a 2005 Harley Davidson Sportster northbound when the motorcycle veered off the right side of the road.

The bike struck a ditch, flipped over, and ejected Hern.
