
State Fair Community College announced the 2024 Distinguished Students for their distinction in scholarship, leadership and service to the college and for academic achievements and participation in organizations and extracurricular activities.
This year’s recipients are as follows:
-Addie Berry, of Green Ridge, is the 2024 Arts and Sciences Distinguished Student. Berry graduated with an Associate of Arts, an Associate of Applied Science, and a Professional Certificate in Agribusiness, Summa Cum Laude. Berry has served as the president of the SFCC Agriculture Club, and have been involved in Professional Agriculture Students Organization, as well as participated in various community engagement efforts.
-Lexi Lewis, of Columbia, is the 2024 Health Sciences Distinguished Student. Lewis graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene, Magna Cum Laude. She has been a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association, among other student organizations.
-Mason Barnett, of Marceline, is the 2024 Career and Technical Education Distinguished Student. Barnett graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in Manufacturing Technology with Emphasis in Welding Technology, Summa Cum Laude, a Professional Certificate in Welding Technology, and a Skills Certificate in Structural Welding with Distinction. Barnett was involved in Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
-Galina Pokitko, of Sedalia, is the 2024 Early College & Career Distinguished Student. Pokitko, a dual-credit student from Smith-Cotton High School, graduated with an Associate of Arts, Magna Cum Laude.
