The 2024 Missouri State Fair is currently seeking nominations for veterans or active military members to be honored during the event. Sponsored by Capital Materials, Retrieving Freedom, Inc., and Starline Brass, this initiative aims to recognize the service and sacrifice of those who have served or are serving in the armed forces.

Nominations for the Veteran/Active Military Honoree of the Day are open until May 27. Eleven individuals from Missouri will be selected from the nominations to be honored daily in a Military Flag Retreat ceremony held just outside the Historic Administration Building on the Fairgrounds.

To nominate someone, individuals can access the nomination form on the Missouri State Fair website. It is requested that the form be completed thoroughly, as the information provided will be used by a panel of judges to select the honorees. Nominees must be residents of Missouri and available to attend one of the eleven days of the 2024 Missouri State Fair, scheduled from August 8 to August 18. Completed nomination forms can be submitted via mail or email to the Missouri State Fair marketing office. The deadline for submissions is May 27, 2024.
