
The Kansas City Royals defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 8-1 to win their seventh straight game.
The Rays struck first in the first inning off of Seth Lugo, but the Royals offense woke up in the fourth and scored eight runs over the next four innings.
Bobby Witt Jr. and Michael Massey both homered. Seth Lugo went seven strong innings, only allowing one run on four hits. Lugo picked up his league-leading eighth win of the season. Lugo also leads all American League pitchers in ERA, innings, and ERA+.
The Royals improve to 33-19 on the season.
