A project to replace part of the Howard County Route P bridge near New Franklin is set to start immediately after Memorial Day.

Route P will close at the bridge on Tuesday, May 28, and will stay closed through the end of August. The bridge will be closed 24/7 during this period, requiring vehicles to use an alternate route.

The bridge, located over Bonne Femme Creek at the eastern city limits of New Franklin, will have its deck, or driving surface, replaced as part of the project.
