Janet Kaye Sanders, 70, of Slater, died Sunday, May 26, 2024 at the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Slater City Cemetery, with Pastor Walt Snyder officiating.  Friends may call prior to the service Wednesday at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.  Memorials are suggested to Peace Lutheran Church in Slater in care of the funeral home.

Born March 20, 1954 in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Gus F. and Dorothy Gebhardt Sanders.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, William D. Sanders and Ronald W. Sanders; and a sister, Betty Williams.

Miss Sanders was a charter member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Slater.  She was a 1972 graduate of Slater High School, and a 2000 graduate of Friends University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in organizational management and leadership.  She began her career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1972, where she worked in telecommunications technology before being promoted to Network Maintenance Manager in 1998 in Moberly.  She retired from AT&T in December 2013.
