The Slater School District Board of Education heard an update from the Four Day School Week committee during its meeting on Tuesday, May 28.
The board has held discussions in the past about potentially moving to a permanent four-day school week. The board previously designated a committee to review feedback and learn more from other school districts that have made the change to see if it would work at Slater schools.
Superintendent Terry Lorenz reported that the committee wanted to compile more data from other districts before making a recommendation.
The board also approved MSBA membership for the 2024-2025 school year, as well as a Parents as Teachers (PAT) Co-op with Miami, Hardeman, and Gilliam.
The next school board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 25.
