
The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Cincinnati Reds 5-3 on Wednesday and took two of three in the series.
Matt Carpenter got the Cardinals on the board in the third inning with a solo homer, his first of the year. St. Louis added two more in the third and one each in the eighth and ninth.
Nolan Gorman homered and drove in two runs. Masyn Winn extended his hitting streak to 18 games and had three hits on the day.
Andre Pallante picked up the win, going six scoreless innings with four strikeouts.
St. Louis gets back to .500 with the win.
