The Saline County Commission issued a statement regarding the five Welcome Center Project bids that were received on Wednesday, May 22.
The bids were for the Welcome Center that will be constructed at Marshall Junction. A total of five bids were received, but the commission and WSKF Architects said they all came in over-budget.
All five bids exceeded the engineer’s estimate of cost, as well as the federal award the county received for the project.
The commission has decided to reject all bids and put the project design back on the drawing table. WSKF Architects has been asked to redesign the plans for a less costly project so that a revised bid advertisement can be submitted.
