The Kansas City Royals defeated the Minnesota Twins 6-1 on Wednesday and snapped a three-game losing streak.

The Twins struck first in the second inning, but Kansas City responded with four runs in the third, and two more in the fifth.

The offense was powered by Nelson Velazquez, who homered twice and drove in three runs. Salvador Perez had a home run and two RBI.

Seth Lugo continued his strong start to the season, going six innings and only allowing one run. He allowed six hits and struck out five. Angel Zerpa, Will Smith, and Carlos Hernandez combined for three scoreless innings out of the bullpen.

Kansas City is 35-22 on the season.
