The St. Louis Cardinals fell short in a 4-2 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday, May 31.

The Phillies got to Miles Mikolas in the second inning, scoring three runs to take an early lead. Mikolas still pitched a quality start, going six innings, allowing three runs on five hits with five strikeouts.

The St. Louis offense only mustered three hits in the game. Brandon Crawford and Nolan Arenado both homered, but base-runners were scarce for the Redbirds.

The Cardinals fall to 27-28 on the season.
