crash

Two people from Lincoln suffered moderate injuries after a two-vehicle collision just inside Pettis County on Saturday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 63-year-old Pamela Swearingen was driving her SUV south on U.S. Route 65 around 10 a.m., when a pickup truck driven by 23-year-old Alexander Timoshchuk of Ionia attempted to turn onto the highway from Whiteman Road. Troopers say that Timoshchuk failed to yield to Swearingern’s vehicle, striking and totaling the SUV. His truck sustained extensive damage.

Both Swearingen and her passenger, 80-year-old Richard Swearingen, were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. Timoshchuk had no reported injuries.
