Born December 28, 1920, in Silver Lake, KS, she was the oldest of six children born to the late Clarence Anderson and Ruth Goeakler Anderson.  Marie was raised in the rural Silver Lake area and was a 1938 graduate of Silver Lake High School.  Following graduation she moved to New York where she worked as a nanny and attended Traphagen School of Fashion and Art.  On March 7, 1941, in San Diego, CA, she married Fred Reeder Jr. and spent the following war years living all over the country.  Fred preceded her in death on January 16, 1988.  In 1950, the Reeders moved to Moultrie, GA, where they spent over 10 years.  Fred worked at Spence Air Force Base as head of the maintenance department and Marie taught art classes at Moultrie Jr. High School.  In 1963, they moved to Marshall and opened Reeder Auto Parts, where Marie served as head bookkeeper.

Marie had many good friends in later years through her hobbies of china painting, bridge and flower gardening.  She was well known among her single women friends for her nightly “happy hours.”  She and her friends spent many happy evenings at her home talking, laughing, drinking and eating.  Marie will be missed by all.
