
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources will host a public outreach meeting Tuesday, June 11th to give the public an update on efforts to improve flood resiliency near Brunswick.
The public is invited to attend the meeting in the Brunswick High School auditorium beginning at 5 p.m. During the meeting, the Corps of Engineers will provide a progress update on their study considering options for improving the levee system along the Missouri River in Chariton County. The Corps will present newly developed maps showing each alternative, then lead a roundtable discussion to answer questions and receive stakeholder feedback. Representatives with DNR will remain on hand until 8 p.m. for further conversation.
Tuesday’s public outreach meeting is the third hosted by the Corps and DNR to study the levee system along the Missouri River between the Grand and Chariton rivers, including the city of Brunswick.
