Member schools of the Missouri State High School Activities Association have voted to entirely remove distance restrictions on teams seeking to compete out of state. Communications Director Jason West says the rule has evolved over the years.
With few exceptions, current by-laws prevent teams from traveling more than 250 air miles beyond the Missouri border. West says the MSHSAA Board of Directors will formally ratify the results of this and other ballot measures during their upcoming meeting Thursday. The change will impact both athletic and non-athletic activities governed by MSHSAA.
