Saline County Clerk Brittni Burton explained how her office is preparing for the upcoming elections in August and November 2024.

Burton said the county approved bids for new poll pads, which are used to help the clerks office keep updated information on voters and credit voters when they check-in at a precinct. Burton said the county is switching to KNOWiNK for the poll pads at the cost of $53,490 for the first year, and $4,350 for the following years.

Burton said these new poll pads have a feature to help process voters, even problems were to occur.

Burton’s office has been preparing for the 2024 election cycle since last year. The clerk’s office is currently getting all the ballots finalized before sending them off. Burton is also trying to gather elections judges as well.

Absentee voting for the August 6 Primary Election begins on June 25. No-excuse absentee voting begins on July 23.
