The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Colorado Rockies 8-5 after an eighth inning rally on Friday, June 7.

The Cardinals got off to a hot start, scoring the first four runs of the game. Paul Goldschmidt had two RBI singles, and Nolan Gorman and Nolan Arenado also drove home runs,

The Rockies tied the game in the fourth with a bases clearing triple from Michael Toglia, who scored after a throwing error on the play.

Down 5-4, the Cardinals tied the game in the sixth thanks to an RBI single from Dylan Carlson. St. Louis then rallied for three runs in the eighth after Carlson again came through, this time with a two-run double.

Ryan Helsley earned the save with a scoreless ninth.

The Cardinals improve to 30-32 on the season.
