Alec Burleson homered and brought in another run to lead the St Louis Cardinals to a 5-1 win over the Colorado Rockies on Sunday afternoon at Busch Stadium.

With the lead already 1-0 to the Cardinals, Burleson opened the third inning with his ninth home run of the season, sending it over the right-center field fence. Burleson also collected an RBI on a groundout in the sixth, while Masyn Winn brought in two runs with a line drive double in the fourth. Colorado claimed their only run with one out in the ninth. Andre Pallante went five innings to receive the win, fanning six while allowing three hits and one walk.

The Cardinals are now 31-33 on the season, sitting fourth in the NL Central with a six-and-a-half game deficit to Milwaukee. St Louis take the day off before welcoming Pittsburgh for a three-game home stand.
