Construction crews in Glasgow are beginning work on replacing a second bridge over Greggs Creek.
City Administrator Robert Snider says the project to replace the bridge carrying Industrial Drive received the notice to proceed Monday, indicating the start of the project. Snider says he expects the new bridge to open by the end of August. It’ll be the second bridge Glasgow replaces this year over Greggs Creek. Snider says concrete pouring for the Schnell Road bridge is taking place this week, with the aim of opening the bridge to traffic before the Fourth of July.
Snider also reported that a third bridge project will begin once city utilities are relocated. The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to improve the Route 5 crossing over Bear Creek, but needs the city to move their utilities across the highway before construction can begin. Snider says this project will go out to bid before the end of the month.
Glasgow’s Board of Aldermen received these updates during their meeting Monday night. Their next meeting is June 25th.
