Missouri Valley College has looked west for their newest men’s volleyball coach.

The Vikings announced Noah Cotterman on Wednesday morning as their new coach. Cotterman will arrive from Benedictine University Mesa of Arizona, where he was an assistant coach the past three seasons, including the 2021 and 2022 seasons where the Redhawks finished national runners-up. In a statement, athletic director Mike Machholz said that Cotterman’s experience with his previous position made him the right candidate to keep the program’s momentum going. Machholz also described Cotterman as very familiar with NAIA men’s volleyball and the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

Prior to his time at Benedictine, Cotterman spent two seasons with the program at Park University’s Gilbert, Arizona campus, and also coached volleyball teams at the youth, club and high school levels.

Cotterman takes over a Vikings men’s volleyball program that finished last spring’s season with a 21-6 overall record, including a 13-6 mark in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, finishing the season ranked 11th in the final regular season coaches’ poll.
