UPDATE: The City of Sweet Springs is reporting that the problem has been resolved. Residents are able to return to their homes. Be sure to air out your homes to remove any lingering smells. If problems persist, residents should contact Spire.

The City of Sweet Springs is advising the public to avoid the area of Union and Daisy after a gas line was struck.

City officials have informed KMMO News that residents within a two-block radius of Union and Daisy are being evacuated as a precaution. Crews from Spire are on the way to repair the line. The area will remain off-limits until crews complete their repairs.
