The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Chicago Cubs 3-0 on Friday, June 14.

The game was scoreless heading into the eighth inning before Pedro Pagés drilled his first home run of his career to give the Cardinals the lead. St. Louis added two more runs in the ninth with RBI hits from Ivan Herrera and Dylan Carlson.

Ryan Helsley picked up his 23rd save of the season with a scoreless ninth.

Kyle Gibson pitched a gem, going seven scoreless innings, only allowing two hits and one walk, while striking out six.

The Cardinals get back to .500 with the win, and sit at 34-34 on the year.
