The Pettis County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Carrollton woman on Wednesday, June 12.

Deputies responded to a complaint of a vehicle trespassing on a bean field in Sedalia. Authorities made contact with the occupants of the vehicle and arrested them both for trespassing. Deputies searched the purse of one of the subjects, identified as Kelsey Hopkins, and found a small baggie of methamphetamine, which weighed a little less than one gram. Hopkins was aware of the substance in her possession and admitted that she believed it was methamphetamine.

Hopkins has prior convictions for burglary and possession of a controlled substance.

Hopkins has been charged with a felony for possession of a controlled substance, as well as a misdemeanor for trespassing in the first degree. Bond was set at $15,000 cash or surety.

Hopkins was arraigned on Friday, June 14 at Pettis County Circuit Court. No other court dates have been set at this time.
