The Concordia R-2 School Board voted Wednesday to retain their food service vendor for the next school year.
Superintendent Dr Theresa Christian tells KMMO News that the board received two bids to provide the district’s food service, milk and bread. The board decided to retain SGC Foodservice of Springfield for the next school year, preferring their bid over one submitted by Woods Supermarkets.
Also at Wednesday’s meeting, the board approved the list of capital projects for 2024-25. Christian identified projects for the district to include a new gym floor, signage, sidewalk repairs, and HVAC units. The board also approved amendments to the student handbook and employee manual for the next school year to reflect new staff.
Christian says work continues on the budget for the next school year, but adds that it should appear very similar to last year. She will present the budget at Concordia’s next school board meeting, June 27th at 7 p.m.
