Missouri Valley’s Ty Pope finished second in the men’s all-around and earned All-American honors in bareback riding at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming.

Pope competed in Saturday’s short go-round, the only Viking to qualify for the final night of competition. Pope posted a 79.5 to finish eighth in the round and third overall, 3.5 points behind the winner. The performance earned him All-American honors for the third year. Along with his saddle bronc score, Pope finished with 255 points in the all-around contest to place second.

Missouri Valley finished 13th in the final standings on 325 points. Tarleton State University of Texas took the team title with 895 points.
