The Concordia Board of Aldermen discussed adopting a new work schedule for the Police Department during its meeting on Monday, June 17.
Concordia Police Chief Paul Mapes spoke to the board and requested adopting the “Pitman Schedule” for officers. This is a 12 hour shift rotational schedule that would allow officers to have every other weekend off.
City Administrator Dale Klussman said the board didn’t make a decision on the topic and wants to get more information before approval.
In other news, the board signed an agreement with Vance Brothers for the fiscal year 2024 Street Surfacing Project. The city has worked with Vance Brother for the past three years.
