Although Wednesday, June 19th is a federal holiday, several area school boards are planning to gather tonight for their monthly Board of Education meetings.

School boards beginning their meeting at 6 p.m. include Boonville, Lexington, Macon R-I, and New Franklin.

At 6:30 p.m., the Fayette R-III school board will meet, with the appointment of a new board member among the items on their agenda. Fayette will also consider whether to add a cross country program ahead of the school’s move to the new Central State Eight conference.

La Monte R-IV is schedule to have their board meeting this evening at 7 p.m. All boards have budget items on their agenda as districts around the state prepare for the start of the new fiscal year July 1st.

Meanwhile, Glasgow has delayed their meeting by one week. Their board will convene June 26th at 7 p.m.
