An eight-year-old boy was flown to a Columbia hospital after his wagon was struck in a Pettis County roadway.

The accident occurred around 6:40 p.m. Wednesday on South Kentucky just south of the Sedalia city limits. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the eight-year-old entered the roadway as a car driven by a 76-year-old Sedalia woman was heading south. The driver was unable to stop in time, striking both the wagon and boy. The driver had no reported injuries, and her car was driven from the scene.
